Google glass vs apple iwatch

Google Glass is a wearable computer with an optical head-mounted display developed by Google with the mission of producing a mass-market ubiquitous computer. Google Glass displays information in a spectacle frame with a smart phone's hands-free format. Users of google glass communicate with the glass through voice commands through the Internet. Google Glass became officially available to the general public on May 15, 2014, for a price of US$1500. Before that users were required to receive invitations before they could try Google Glass.

Come to think of it, google glass does look like the iron man head gear:

Apple's iWatch is a smart watch project that Apple is reportedly aiming to launch with a special event in October of this year. Expect a device running iOS with biometrics and other features providing integration with other iOS devices.

According to the new report the supplier for the flexible displays that are to be used on the new Apple iWatch will be provided by LG.  Apple has also plans to launch their iWatch this year with two different screen sizes.

Apple is also aiming to sell around 9 million units of their iWatch till the end of 2014 with the help of LG, though the launch date is said to be in September. iWatch will also be introduced in two different sizes depending on the wrist size a user have, so Apple will come up with a 1.4 and a 1.5 inch iWatch.

According to a report released in February, LG was said to be the only supplier of displays for Apple’s iWatch and the mass productions of these smart watches will start as early as July 2014. Rumours also say that the reason Apple chose LG’s display was because of its power efficiency and the brightness that the screen offer with it, though every company with a smart watch is looking for something like that and it seems like Apple just got the right dealer.

A flexible display and a stylish design will not be the only two things that the iWatch will offer as it will also be loaded with different biometric sensors that will help you keep in check on your health daily with the help of an iPhone or an iPad. Apple may also come up with a luxury edition of their iWatch that is said to cost as high as $1000.

LG seems to be establishing a strong foothold, with the nexus phones that they are making for Google and the flexible screen that they are providing Apple. Let’s hope the screen technology is as good as the reports says as it would be as the most important thing for a smart watch is the battery life that it offers.

Which will reign supreme?

As quoted from raszl.com, these are the below similarities and differences:

What can both Google Glass and iWatch do?

  1. Tell time
  2. Perform basic search
  3. Get notifications/alerts
  4. Send updates/messages
  5. Voice and touch input
  6. Audio and visual output
  7. Essentially hands free

What can Google Glass do that iWatch can't?

  1. Navigation
  2. Take pictures/video
  3. Augmented reality
  4. Control other devices

What can iWatch do that Google Glass can't?

  1. Worn all the time (including restaurants, gym, even sleep and shower, etc.)
  2. Record daily activity
  3. Silent vibrating alerts
  4. Kinetic battery charging
  5. Pinch, two finger gestures
  6. Payments
I guess the difference are just based on ones preference, the same as choosing between Samsung or Apple. It's either you go for the watch or the glass.

5 things to do to handle criticism

You must have heard all those stuff people blabber about you. Yes, it's bloody hurting, especially so when it's from family and friends. It's something everyone of us face in our daily lives. But what do we do to face this problem?

1. Criticisms hurt.

First things first- anybody giving you criticism will intentionally or unintentionally hurt you. It is human nature to feel hurt when someone points out a flaw in us. We have to accept that we are all born humans and not robots. Nobody will be perfect in this world and everybody is flawed. When we understand that, we will be able to look beyond the hurt and then easily be able to deal with criticism.

2. Sift out good criticism from the bad ones.

All of us have an opinion but that doesn't mean they are always right. What matters  most would be knowing where the feedback is coming from and understanding the true intentions of the person who is giving you criticisms. A good friend or family member would only want you the best for you compared to a jealous hi-bye friend who only hurls nonsense to hurt your feelings and feel good about it later. When someone dear to you says something to you, they have your best interest in mind and possibly there is some truth to those words, especially even more likely if its heard before.

3. Be thankful for CONSTRUCTIVE feedback.

It's not easy to be honest and frank. Only people who care about you will be 100% transparent to you on how they feel. Take time to thank them for giving you friendly and helpful feedback. Appreciate the fact that the person told you something that can make you an even better person. On the other hand, please do laugh off and ignore any lousy words and destructive feedback. Don't, I repeat, don't let it affect you in anyway.

4. Work on your flaws.

Learn to work on the bad issues that you have. Sometimes it may not come from anyone but it's that few bad habits that you yourself are guilty of making. Identify the problems that you have and work on a realistic plan to break the habit. Support will definitely be given to you by your loved ones so keep your confidence up and keep moving forward.

And that's how you deal with criticisms. It's not that bad now right?

So bloody sweet.

Lemons.

Sometimes life just suck for you.
Ya, It really just gets to you and blows your mind off BAD!

So what do you do?

You take a deep breathe and wait for the moment where you can sleep it off.

Seriously.

How can you amend disasters? It's always adviced to solve your own shitty problems. But sometimes you just need to walk away for awhile and come back facing it when you feel clearer and refreshed.

Fact.

The inevitable questions.

Why do people like to ask soooooo many questions?

When your a kid, the questioning starts. NO! They are not good conversation starters and now look at where questions bring us to?

How's school?
How's your marks?
Why are you here?
Why are you NOT here?
Why do you always go out?
Why are you attached so young?
Who is your boyfriend?
Why are you single at this age?
Why are you not married yet?
Where is your husband?
When's the good news?
When's #2?
When's #345678910???

And then the universe doesn't stop there. Your kids get the hit next.

Where's your kid?
How is their school?
.... And the list goes on.

Are these questions be really necessary?
Why and what's the purpose of asking really especially since you are not even from the family??

Nothing really changes if you knew the answers anyway.

Just hate questions.

AND NO. NO BABY NOW. NOT UNTIL 30 YEARS OLD PLS.

Having dinner at home.

Home cooked meal vs. Takeaways - I am a firm believer of having at least one meal a day to be prepared at home.  At least I know and I ensure my family has had that 1 portion of vegetables, meat/fish and fruits.

Where got time?? - On normal busy weekdays that meal would be dinner. I prefer to cook something less fancy that requires not more than 15 mins after a long day. Weekends of course are meant to play/experiment with time food. Since we have the luxury.

Cook?? I only know how to boil egg and make instant noodles - I definitely don't think it is difficult to cook. Anybody who knows how to cook instant noodle or boil an egg, should be 'qualified' enough to make their own or their family's meal. I will start showing u how easy it is and hopefully more people start cooking their own dinners. :)

Recipe?? - it's not something you should fear. Never ever follow a recipe from A-Z. The keyword is read. Understand. Improvise. Recipes should be guides or inspirations unless you want to learn a basic technique.

How to start?? - start simple. I'm not even chinese and I cook Chinese style very often. Here's how below. Good luck.

Chinese dinner:

1) stir fry vegetables in garlic and soy sauce

Ingredients:
- oil
- garlic; sliced or chopped
- soy sauce
- Kailan or any leafy vegetables you like

Method:
stir fry

Garnish:
fried onions

Improvisations:
Try different types of vegetables.
Try adding shiitake mushrooms.
Try using oyster sauce.

2) ABC Soup

Ingredients:
- carrot, diced
- potato, peeled and diced
- chicken/pork, sliced
- soy sauce/salt to taste
- water

Method:
boil till carrot and potato turn soft and breakable.

Garnish:
fried onions

Improvisations:
Try adding celery/ lotus shoots or any of your favourite vegetables.

3) omelette

Improvisations:
Try adding prawns

Garnish:
Spring onion

4) steamed fish (for those who have extra time)

Ingredients:
- fish whole or fillet; cleaned
- garlic; sliced
- ginger; sliced
- soy sauce/salt to taste

Method:
steam over boiling water. (Tip: I prepare this while cooking rice or while cooking soup)

Garnish:
spring onion

Improvisations:
Try with prawns.
Try adding sesame oil.

Pink & purple ombré nails

Pink & purple ombré nails anybody?
Let me teach you the easiest way to achieve these:

Step 1: Apply a light base colour to your nails (i choose baby pink) that will contrast nicely with the darker colour (I choose purple) which you will use for the nail tips or nail ends (whichever you wish the gradient to start from, I did purple to pink gradient). Wait for it to dry (nothing too difficult yet? It gets easier)

Step 2: Grab a makeup sponge or a cloth that's porous, you need a sponge or cloth that's porous so you can create the sponge effect (doesn't work with cotton bud/wool/tip). I used cloth. Next pour small amount of the purple polish onto the and dip the corner of the sponge into the polish. Now dab the sponge onto the tip on the nails, and continue dabbing down to a about a third of the nail, making sure the majority of the polish is on the tip. You want to create a gradient look where the dark eventually fades out toward the bottom of the nail.

Step 3 - Apply a colour that's inbetween the contrasting colours and dab where the two colours meet. This will help all the colours to blend into each other. For this look you can use a dark pink. I left this out and blended both nail colours.

Step 4 - You can finish off by applying a layer of glitter polish over the top and use this to set my gems and fimo clay stars/flowers. I omitted this. Lastly i applied a thick coat of clear polish over the top to seal everything in. Finally, clean up the edges with a cotton bud and varnish remover.

It really is that easy! I was quite pleased as to how it turned out, considering i have never done this nail effect before. I'm looking forward to doing this again in more colours!

Disclaimer: Sorry for the unprofessional picture. It honestly look better than the picture, I swear!

Diamonds - Rihanna

Shine bright like a diamond
Shine bright like a diamond

Find light in the beautiful sea
I choose to be happy
You and I, you and I
We’re like diamonds in the sky

You’re a shooting star I see
A vision of ecstasy
When you hold me, I’m alive
We’re like diamonds in the sky

I knew that we’d become one right away
Oh, right away
At first sight I left the energy of sun rays
I saw the life inside your eyes

So shine bright, tonight you and I
We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky
Eye to eye, so alive
We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky

Shine bright like a diamond
Shine bright like a diamond
Shining bright like a diamond
We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky

Shine bright like a diamond
Shine bright like a diamond
Shining bright like a diamond
We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky

Palms rise to the universe
As we moonshine and molly
Feel the warmth, we’ll never die
We’re like diamonds in the sky

You’re a shooting star I see
A vision of ecstasy
When you hold me, I’m alive
We’re like diamonds in the sky

At first sight I felt the energy of sun rays
I saw the life inside your eyes

So shine bright, tonight you and I
We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky
Eye to eye, so alive
We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky

Shine bright like a diamond
Shine bright like a diamond
Shining bright like a diamond
We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky

Shine bright like a diamond
Shine bright like a diamond
Shining bright like a diamond
We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky

Shine bright like a diamond
Shine bright like a diamond
Shine bright like a diamond

So shine bright, tonight you and I
We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky

Should I start a beauty blog?

I was asked to try it out. Maybe I should. Lets wait and see

Battle Scars lyrics by Lupe Fiasco ft Guy Sebastian

The wound heals but it never does
That’s cause you’re at war with love
You're at war with love, yeah

These battle scars, don’t look like they’re fading
Don’t look like they’re ever going away
They ain't never gonna change
These battle

Never let a wound ruin me
But I feel like ruin's wooing me
Arrow holes that never close from cupid on a shooting spree
Feeling stupid cause I know it ain't no you and me
But when you're trying to beat the odds up
Been trying to keep your nods up and you know that you should know
And let her go but the fear of the unknown
Holding another lover strong sends you back into the zone
With no Tom Hanks to bring you home
A lover not a fighter on the frontline with a poem
Trying to write yourself a rifle
Maybe sharpen up a song
To fight the tanks and drones of you being alone

I wish I never looked, I wish I never touched
I wish that I could stop loving you so much
Cause I’m the only one that's trying to keep us together
When all of the signs say that I should forget her
I wish you weren’t the best, the best I ever had
I wish that the good outweighed the bad
Cause it’ll never be over, until you tell me it's over

These battle scars, don’t look like they’re fading
Don’t look like they’re ever going away
They ain't never gonna change
These battle

(And just leave then)
You shouldn't have but you said it
(And I hope you never come back)
It shouldn't have happened but you let it
Now you're down on the ground screaming medic
The only thing that comes is the post-traumatic stresses
Shields, body armors and vests
Don't properly work, that's why you're in a locker full of hurt
The enemy within and all the fires from your friends
The best medicine is to probably just let her win

I wish I couldn't feel, I wish I couldn't love
I wish that I could stop cause it hurts so much
And I’m the only one that's trying to keep us together
When all of the signs say that I should forget her
I wish you weren’t the best, the best I ever had
I wish that the good outweighed the bad
Cause it’ll never be over, until you tell me it's over

These battle scars, don’t look like they’re fading
Don’t look like they’re ever going away
They ain't never gonna change
These battle

I wish I couldn't feel, I wish I couldn't love
I wish that I could stop cause it hurts so much
And I’m the only one that's trying to keep us together
When all of the signs say that I should forget her
I wish you weren’t the best, the best I ever had
I wish that the good outweighed the bad
Cause it’ll never be over, until you tell me it's over

Cause you've set me on fire
I’ve never felt so alive, yeah

Hoping wounds heal, but it never does
That's because you're at war with love

And I’m at the point of breaking
And it’s impossible to shake it

See, you hoped the wound heals, but it never does
That's cause you're at war with love
Hope it heals, but it never does
That's cause you're at war with love!

These battle scars, don’t look like they’re fading
Don’t look like they’re ever going away
They ain't never gonna change
These battle

These battle scars, don’t look like they’re fading
Don’t look like they’re ever going away
They ain't never gonna change
These battle

Runaway brides - just a sign of cold feet, or immaturity??

Read the thought provoking, heart racking article on runaway brides part 1 & 2

Buying a hdb when we start our adulthood and wait a good 3-4 years for its completion is a huge pressure to many young couples - or just brides.

Pressure; Is it really from friends, family and hdb ?

I beg to differ.

Been dating for 6 years. Planned and applied for a small hdb unit 3 years ago and we are about to collect my keys in a month of so. I don't have any cold feet now and i don't even see it coming. I just worry about bills (that we need to single handedly manage without any parents support all the way from rom to wedding to Reno to honeymoon) and i am pretty much excited about my next phase of life as a married woman in my own new house starting my small little family.

To me it's simple.

1)You fall in true love, 2) you find your life partner 3) both discuss and plan future 4) always work things during problems out unless its trust and loyalty issues 5) make important decisions - house, marriage

I just think the words "cold feet" are the lamest excuse for immature brats who rather be single and not tied down.

Don't kill me, it's just my point of view.

I ultimately love peace! :P

Around the world for anyone?

Interested in a round the world trip but think its impossible?

Think again.

Let me give you a quick guide on how easy it takes one to do this, as well as answer all your dying questions:

1. Time

You want to see the world but with 14 days annual leave in a year, you ask me how is it ever going to be possible?

Simple. Break your round the world trip in parts. You don't need to see the world at one go, you won't enjoy much of it anyway.

My traveling tip for those who are tight on time, will be to travel by region. Start with Asia (because I'm from Singapore, do so accordingly to wherever you stay) and move around year by year. Saves you money this way too!

2. Modes of transportation

Nowadays we are able to travel round the world through anyway we dream of - either sea, air or land with the help of the advancement in technologies!

Traveling in budget has been the easiest and quickest ticket out from ones home land for their overseas experience, at least for countries nearby. I recommend Scoot (http://www.flyscoot.com/index.php/en/) as well as Air Asia (https://airasia.com/) for Asian countries.

For those willing to travel further (and pay more) you can try any of the 28 airlines from star alliances (http://m.staralliance.com/portal/home.do?l=en_US). You would be surprised how far you can go.

For those ego prefer sailing around the world, there are many well know cruise companies like star cruises (http://m.starcruises.com/en/home.aspx) and Royal Caribbean cruises (http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/ports/group/home.do?portCode=SIN) that can help you as well.

3. Money

It's definitely gonna be costly for a round the world trip. The key is to plan and save in advance. Booking during promotional periods can save alot.

Else, entering a contest to win a trip could also solve the problem (nothing wrong getting Lady Luck to help right?)

Or, you could also try these methods - http://www.vergemagazine.com/articles/budget-traveller/15-ways-to-travel-for-free-or-at-least-cheap.html

4. Reason

Everyone needs a reason to travel. Why don't you make it a "just because" excuse rather than something fancy yet easily forgotten "bucket list"

So go ahead, take a break and go round the world like you should. Need more help? Read more at : http://www.lonelyplanet.com/europe/travel-tips-and-articles/76922
